Fantastic plugin! The only problem I'm having is that the Cover Art seems to randomly stop being showed, reverting back to the default monster cat logo. The setting isn't ticked on in the settings menu, and it did work earlier today. Any idea?

Amazing job, thank you ! I've a question - I absolutely don't know if it's hard or even possible - but if you know how to do, do you think you could put osu! game like a music player ? Thank you, & good luck for your future projects !

Is it possible to move the media control buttons of the albume cover? I want them to be under the song name
JoeCoolTM Featured By Owner 5 days ago
Absolutely love your work, always the first skin I load for friends when I setup their rainmeters.

Having some trouble with the song information right. I use left and can get it even with middle of screen all the way to the left no problem and song title and artist are even with eachother etc.
When I unload left and use the right side though, the artist name starts on the right border and song title stays in the middle so when I try to bring the artist title over the song keeps the same distance and ends up on the left border. Any way to fix this?

I cannot for the life of me get album art to show using this with iTunes. Any help please??

Does you have a version of it does not have a watermark just the bar?
MarcoPixel Featured By Owner 5 days ago  Hobbyist Digital Artist
What do you mean by watermark? If you mean the cover and the song information you can disable those by right-clicking on the skin and pressing "Unload Skin".

Would it be possible to make sensitivity curves and/or smoothing curves? Just to customize which ranges you want to be more prominent or recessive, depending on the music being displayed through the visualizer.

Also great work with this skin! Works perfectly and looks great!

I found an issue when i try to change the scale it goes back to the original scale number, im using 1.5.3
MarcoPixel Featured By Owner Feb 8, 2017  Hobbyist Digital Artist
You have to enter the scale number and then press Enter when you're done. It's working on my side.

yericho1996 Featured By Owner Feb 6, 2017  New Deviant

xclashgames Featured By Owner Feb 6, 2017
I think I found a bug.
I am trying to set the visualizer scale to 1.5 like I could in previous versions but when I press enter the 1.5 changes to 10.5
I just cannot get the visualizer to fit my screen anymore and although I love it I just can't use it at the moment because it doesn't fit.
MarcoPixel Featured By Owner Feb 6, 2017  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Download the latest version, it should be fixed.
bawzstatuz Featured By Owner Feb 6, 2017  New Deviant
It isn't fixed, been bothering me.
MarcoPixel Featured By Owner Feb 6, 2017  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Well it seems that you didn't download the latest version. Because on the 1.5.2 build its working.
Nitzmeister Featured By Owner Edited Feb 5, 2017
this is amazing. i appreciate your work. it changed the ambiance of my desktop from dull to cool.

i do have some suggestions

-some of us like to cycle wallpapers on our desktop and the chameleon effect is unseeable for some backgrounds. how about adding a simple bar that you can put behind the song information that also changes color depending if the text color is bright or dark.
if text color is black the bar is white
if text color is white the bar is black

also good if the bar fades at the end of the text to give it a more decent look.

-sometimes when i play high end games, i turn off the music player (itunes) to save CPU usage but i do want the equalizer to stay. anyway we can make the equalizer stay but the song info hidden when turning off music player?

herrerarausaure Featured By Owner Feb 5, 2017  Hobbyist Digital Artist
I ran into an issue when using this with Google Play Music Desktop Player - as soon as any skins from this package is loaded, Rainmeter's memory usage gradually increases - reaching hundreds, even a couple GB's if left unchecked.

Unloading the skins would not stop the increase in memory usage. I had to unload them and restart Rainmeter. Changing the player to "Spotify" in variables.ini does not lead to such a memory leak.

This leads me to believe the problem is related to the GPMDP plugin, or its use in your skins. I'll also send a PM to tjhrulz regarding the issue.

Great skin otherwise!
tjhrulz Featured By Owner Edited Feb 6, 2017
I have now pushed an updated and fixed version of my plugin to both my repository for the plugin as well as the one for the Monstercat-Visualizer. MarcoPixel will be releasing a new version shortly.
Edit: its out
herrerarausaure Featured By Owner Feb 7, 2017  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Thanks for the quick patch!
tjhrulz Featured By Owner Feb 6, 2017
Figured out the cause of the memory leak, however why the plugin works that way is to prevent huge CPU issues. Finding a more elegant solution for this problem has been on my todo list for a while anyways. I should have a version of the plugin that fixes this in about an hour or so.
tjhrulz Featured By Owner Feb 6, 2017
Thanks for this, I am looking into this and have confirmed it on my end. The leak seems to only occur when GPMDP is closed so for now just keep it open. I'll update you once it is fixed.
MarcoPixel Featured By Owner Feb 6, 2017  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Many thanks for your reply!

We are currently investigating the issue and we will release a update as soon as we get it fixed. For now a workaround would be to keep the player open in the background as it seems to only affect when the player is not running.
MarcoPixel Featured By Owner Feb 6, 2017  Hobbyist Digital Artist
The issue is now fixed and the new version can be downloaded directly on Github or via the link.

I get the following errors:
-                 Invalid PlayerName=[MeasurePlayer] (Monstercat Visualizer\visualizer.ini - [MeasurePlayPause])
-                 SpotifyPlugin.dll: Type= not valid
-                 Invalid PlayerName=[MeasurePlayer] (Monstercat Visualizer\visualizer.ini - [MeasurePosition])

My visualizer and song information is working. Album Art is not working.

Vetriio Featured By Owner Edited Feb 2, 2017
Hey MarcoPixel, I've been rewriting your skin in order to reduce CPU usage, and I was wondering if you'd be alright with me releasing it for people to use, crediting you for the original of course.

If you happen to be wondering just how much CPU usage my version saves, with the visualizer enabled and FFTSize set at 4096, the CPU usage for Rainmeter dropped from 30-50% down to 0-15% on my crappy laptop.
MarcoPixel Featured By Owner Feb 2, 2017  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Sure, you can release it if you want.

If you want to help you could also fork my repo on github and send a pull request with the changes included. With this method your changes get credited on Github and it's easier to implement them to the main version (but only if you want).

If you want, you can hit me up on Discord so we could work together. Send me a private message and i'm gonna send you my username.

Really awesome skin you made, really enjoy it! Everything is great except for the song information not showing up for any of the programs listed. I looked at the log and it said "Spotify is not running", so I downloaded Spotify. Now it says "Invalid Token" and crashes Rainmeter when I try to choose a media player. I'd be grateful if someone could tell me how to fix this.

Edit: So using Spotify shows the song info, but other programs do not.
MarcoPixel Featured By Owner Feb 3, 2017  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Could you please try the newest version of Rainmeter and test if the issue is still there?

Also which OS do you use and which media player are you using.

I wish it had enough room to fit Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites - Zedd Remix or titles longer than that. o╭╮o
Backyardphotographer Featured By Owner Feb 4, 2017
The length of the song label depends on the number of bars you have enabled and the visualization scale. So you can either 1) Increase the number of bars if you have room for the visualizer as well, 2) Increase your visualization scale (same considerations, but scale increases bar size rather than bar count) or 3) if you don't care about the visualizer and the song info being the same length, you can just go into the Song Information ini and scroll to the bottom, find [MeterTrack], and manually add some width to the W option. This is a pretty quick and dirty way to do it but it will work.

I'll be extremely gratefull to anybody who has faced the same problem or has some idea about how to fix it.

How do you rotate the visualizer?
verinityvoid Featured By Owner Jan 18, 2017
Personally, when i updated from 1.3.1 to 1.4.1, i did not like how sensitive the right side of the spectrum was in the new update. The melodic parts of songs (mostly songs from Monstercat) seems to make the right side entirely too "jumpy" for my taste, even with sensitivity of the skin lowered to 20. The visualizer is great, truly it is, but i just prefer the prior version even though it too has it's fault in visualization. Thank you for the skin!
